Annual Meeting 2018: Serving with Purpose

GOLDMARK team members, from our 5 different regions, gathered in Fargo for 2 days to celebrate our Annual Meeting. The Annual Meeting is a great time for all team members to come together to meet face to face, listen and learn from various speakers, and celebrate another successful year at GOLDMARK Property Management.

Out of town team members from Grand Forks, Bismarck, Minneapolis, and Omaha arrived in Fargo on Monday evening and were welcomed with a warm reception.

TUESDAY

Tuesday started early with a delicious breakfast buffet and the option to update professional head shots.

President Kurt Bollman kicked off the Annual Meeting by welcoming all team members with a motivating morning address about the purpose of GOLDMARK. He explained how each team member serves that purpose and how we all positively affect the lives of others whether its by managing our client-owners buildings, delivering exceptional customer service to our residents, or by being a team player in the GOLDMARK family.

Awards were then presented to our leasing and maintenance teams.

Dale, Executive Vice President of Human Resources moved the crowd by sharing motivational stories about the ways GOLDMARK is more than just apartments that our team members manage, but they are homes to thousands of people. Everyone was moved by the many stories that were shared about how people's lives were changed thanks to the hard work and dedication of our team members to finding them a new home, helping when no one else would, and offering support throughout their time in our communities.

After recognizing the exceptional service from our team members by awarding the GOLD Service awards, everyone listened to the senior leadership panel answer questions that ranged in topics from company policies to team member opportunities. Questions were submitted to the panel via survey prior to the Annual Meeting.

The hilarious Line Benders entertained everyone through various educational training scenarios helping team members to understand how to navigate complicated policies and procedures.

Various breakout sessions were offered to team members with a variety of educational topics such as conflict resolution, communication and listening skills, to healthy tips for the workplace. Gathering as a group again in the main ballroom, team members enjoyed social time and a delicious dinner while many were recognized for their years of service at GOLDMARK.

The busy day concluded after dinner with a relaxing Game Night where team members could play various games to earn tickets for prize drawings.

WEDNESDAY

Team members got another early start on Wednesday with optional wellness screenings for those wishing to learn more about their personal health, and participate in the comprehensive GOLDMARK Wellness Program.

After breakfast, Maintenance Mania began. Maintenance technicians were challenged to 4 timed tasks including hardware, plumbing, electrical, and safety. Teams competed to finish each challenge quickly but accurately while themed spirit teams cheered them on.

The final award ceremony was held to present the most prestigious GOLDMARK awards, the Mark of Excellence and the 3 GOLD Cups.

Team members then listened to a motivational farewell from President Kurt Bollman before returning to their offices, or traveling back to their home city.

We all left the Annual Meeting motivated to continue to 'serve with purpose' in all that we do.
