Emergency Shelter Needs Emergency Cleanup

Emergency Shelter Needs Emergency Cleanup

In December 2016, the YWCA of Cass-Clay emergency women and children’s shelter experienced a major water line break. After severe damage to the building and losing donations (totaling $250,000), 57 women and children were moved to an alternate location while repairs were made.

At the end of January, a group of six GOLDMARK team members took a few hours out of their day to assist in the cleanup and reorganization of the emergency shelter. Tasks included cleaning and restocking the nurse’s office, hair salon, and transporting donations to the correct storage rooms.

On February 3rd, YWCA families moved back into the shelter. We were so honored to have been able to lend a helping hand during a tough transition for the staff and residents.

We look forward to continuing our service to the YWCA with various event sponsorships, volunteer opportunities, and donation drives.
