Great Plains Food Bank Volunteer Opportunity

The Great Plains Food Bank is the largest hunger-relief organization in North Dakota and serves as the state’s only food bank. Operating in Fargo, ND in a 36,000 square foot statewide distribution facility, there is a great need for community support to ensure those who seek emergency food assistance receive help.

GOLDMARK sent two groups totaling 14 team members to the Food Bank to assist in their daily operations. For an hour and half, each group packed 3,000 pounds of mobile food boxes to be sent out to communities in the state who do not have access to food pantries. Additionally, one team packed pillows that will also be sent out to churches and shelters to give to those in need.

After each group finished their volunteer time, team members requested to return to the Great Plains Food Bank to put in more hours helping the community. We are planning to send more groups of volunteers for another opportunity before the end of the year.
