Goldmark Volunteers at Habitat for Humanity's Women Build Project

Nine Fargo Team Members took a day away from their offices to help Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity at their Women Build Project. The Women Build Project brings women from the Fargo community together for a multi-day effort to build a home for a low-income, hardworking family in the community.

When pulling up to this established neighborhood, many might wonder where a house is being built or how there could be any open lots. The original home that stood on this property burned down and was unable to be salvaged. The home owners made the generous decision to donate their property to Habitat for Humanity so a house could be built for a family in need.

Our team received great instruction from Habitat for Humanity's Construction Manager and other build staff throughout the day. From installing house wrap to putting on siding, the Goldmark team learned a lot about what goes into building a house from the ground up.

In addition to giving our time volunteering, Goldmark also provided a monetary donation to help support this year’s builds financially. This contribution will be spent purchasing construction materials.

Jamie, the home recipient, stopped by to help during the morning. Our team enjoyed seeing her and getting to know a bit about her journey. Along with her children, Jamie is elated to have a place they can call home to make memories in for years to come.

We can’t wait to celebrate with Jamie when the home is complete and her family is ready to move in! The home is scheduled to be completed in late fall.
