At Goldmark Property Management, we believe in growing leaders who make a difference. One of our own, Nicki Sneed, recently completed the prestigious Leadership Fargo Moorhead West Fargo (FMWF) program.

The Fargo Moorhead West Fargo (FMWF) Chamber leadership program is a 10-month experience that helps people grow as leaders. Each month, the group meets to learn new skills, visit local sites, and collaborate on a project called the Community Change Initiative. The program shows that being a leader is about taking action. Nicki Sneed recently finished the 2024–25 program, and she shared what she learned from the experience and how her project, Love in Bounds Week, is helping teens in our community.

Love In Bounds

Teenagers today face complex relationship challenges. Love in Bounds meets them where they are—on social media and in podcasts—with real talk about setting boundaries, practicing consent, recognizing red flags, safely ending unhealthy relationships, and supporting friends. Created in partnership with Dakota Family Services and Fargo Public Schools, this campaign empowers students to navigate relationships with safety, confidence, and respect. It’s not just prevention—it's preparation for real life.

Q: What were a couple of your biggest takeaways during this Leadership FMWF program?

A key takeaway for me was realizing that meaningful change often starts from the ground up. You don’t need a big title to make a difference—you just need a clear vision, the right team, and the willingness to do the work. The program helped me see myself as someone who can help to drive meaningful change, no matter the environment.

Q: What was the focus of your Community Change Initiative, and how was the project chosen?

Our initiative, Love In Bounds Week, was designed to promote healthy, respectful relationships among teens, especially around prom season when these dynamics are heightened. In August of 2024, our community felt a tragedy when a young woman's life was taken by an intimate partner. After this event, and seeing rising concerns around digital boundaries, emotional safety, and peer pressure in student relationships, we wanted to empower teens with the tools to navigate those situations.

Q: What community need or gap were you trying to address through your initiative?

We focused on addressing the lack of structured, teen-centered education around relationship health—especially in the digital age. There’s a huge gap in accessible, relatable content on topics like consent, boundaries, and social media safety. Our campaign filled that gap with expert-informed, student-friendly resources and activities.

Q: What roles did you personally take on within the group during the project?

I helped lead strategy and visioning—ensuring the project stayed true to its goals while being realistic for schools to implement. I also took on coordination roles, including drafting communications, shaping the pitch to schools, and integrating feedback to keep the campaign adaptable.

Q: Can you describe the process your team used to develop and implement the project?

We started by identifying the problem and narrowing our focus to teen relationship safety. From there, we mapped out the campaign timeline, consulted local experts (like Dakota Family Services), and created content schools could use, not build from scratch. We tailored it to be plug-and-play, with already created materials for maximum ease and impact. Flexibility and school-specific autonomy were built in from the start.

Q: How did your group measure success for the initiative?

Our group agreed that our biggest parameter for success was impact. If this campaign reached even one student who felt seen, empowered, or safer because of something we shared, that’s a success. Of course, we also tracked school participation and the use of our materials, but the heart of this work is knowing that one meaningful connection can change everything.

Q: Was there a moment during the project that made you feel especially proud or connected to the community?

A moment that really stuck with me was hearing directly from the therapists at Dakota Family Services. When they shared how common questions around self-worth, boundaries, and digital safety are for teens, it made me realize we weren’t just guessing—we were responding to real, ongoing needs. It felt like we were giving students a voice even before the campaign launched.

Q: Is there anything else you would like to share about your time in this program?

It’s empowering to see leadership defined not just by titles but by action. This program gave us room to lead with purpose, collaborate effectively, and build something that will last beyond our own involvement. That’s the kind of leadership I want to keep growing.

At Goldmark Property Management, we take pride in our team’s commitment to growth. We’re excited to highlight Angela Jallo’s leadership in the Learning and Development community. As the Vice President of Programming Administration for the North Dakota Association for Talent Development (NDATD), Angela, Learning and Development Consultant at Goldmark, is dedicated to fostering professional growth, enhancing learning opportunities, and driving innovation.

Her work with NDATD has played a vital role in expanding educational initiatives, strengthening industry partnerships, and creating opportunities for meaningful collaboration. Through her leadership, Angela is shaping the future of professional development by introducing innovative programs and providing valuable resources to learning and development professionals.

We spoke with Angela to learn more about her role, her passion for Learning and Development, and how NDATD’s work aligns with Goldmark’s commitment to growth. Check out our Q&A below to hear her insights on leadership, industry trends, and the exciting initiatives ahead!

Q: What is your responsibility as VP of Programming Administration for NDATD?

Angela: I am responsible for collaborating closely with other board members and managing the technical aspects of programming. My role includes setting up virtual and in-person event registrations, coordinating outgoing communications, and analyzing data and analytics.

Q: What inspired you to get involved with NDATD?

Angela: When I was new to Learning and Development, I happened to meet someone in a similar role within the insurance industry. She introduced me to this organization, and I was instantly hooked! Through this group, I’ve connected with incredible professionals who are just as passionate about their work as I am. I’ve been involved for several years, and this is my second term as a board member. During my first term as VP of Special Events, I had the privilege of organizing virtual and in-person conferences, bringing in national speakers, and creating opportunities for people to come together. Being part of this organization has been such a rewarding experience. It’s given me the chance to connect with Learning and Development professionals across different industries, exchange insights, and continue growing in this field I love.

Q: What are your goals while in this position?

Angela: This is my second term on the board in a new role, and it’s exciting to see one of my previous goals already coming to life with new programs launching this quarter. My biggest goal this term is to connect with other chapter leaders, find new ways to grow and expand what we offer to our local community and create a great experience for our members.

Q: How do you see NDATD’s work aligning with Goldmark’s commitment to employee growth and development?

Angela: Both organizations emphasize proactive leadership, professional growth, and knowledge sharing. The chapter is dedicated to keeping members ahead of industry trends, advancing skills through education, and fostering collaboration among professionals.

Q: What advice would you give to others interested in getting involved in professional development organizations like NDATD?

Angela: Go for it and get involved! So many professional development organizations let you join programs or meetings at no or little cost to see if they’re the right fit—so why not give it a try? Even if you don’t know anyone yet, it’s a great way to meet new people and learn from their experiences. We grow the most when we step outside our comfort zones, and you never know who you’ll meet or what insights you’ll gain unless you put yourself out there.

Q: Are there any upcoming NDATD initiatives or events that you’re particularly excited about?

Angela: This quarter, we are launching Community of Practice (COP) groups, meeting in person in Fargo. Additionally, I am co-leading a virtual book club focused on Learning and Development topics, providing a space for engaging discussions among avid readers.

About Angela

Angela has been with Goldmark for several years, starting in a part-time leasing role before advancing to Assistant Property Manager and then Property Manager. Her passion for helping others grow led her to join the Learning & Development Team. Outside of work, Angela enjoys spending time with family, binge-watching documentaries, reading, and embracing the Swedish art of Njuta—finding joy in the little things. A personal goal for the first half of 2025 is keeping all of her houseplants alive, a challenge she is determined to conquer!

Community involvement is more than just a value we have at Goldmark Property Management —it's a commitment. Recently, our Minneapolis team took that commitment to heart by stepping up to make a meaningful difference at Hope 4 Youth, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping young people experiencing homelessness in Minnesota.

When Hope 4 Youth reached out for help installing a new floor in their "Zen Room," our maintenance team members Mark Mathis and Mauro Nevarez didn’t hesitate to volunteer. The Zen Room serves as a small but essential area to relax for the teens who visit Hope 4 Youth. It’s a place where they can find quiet and calm amidst the challenges they face each day.

Mark and Mauro worked diligently to install the new flooring, transforming the Zen Room into a more welcoming and functional space. The teens now have a fresh, inviting space to recharge—a simple change with a big impact.

We appreciate Mark and Mauro for their hard work and for embodying our dedication to making a positive impact. This project is a reminder that even small acts of kindness can create lasting change—and we’re proud to have team members who rise to the occasion.

Thank you, Mark and Mauro, for showing us what it means to make a difference in our community!

We’re proud to share that Tim Bullock, Property Manager for the Park Place site office at Goldmark Property Management, has been appointed as a Director on the Greater Red River Apartment Association (GRRAA) Board. This is a significant achievement that reflects Tim’s leadership, expertise, and dedication to advancing the property management industry.

A Leader Committed to Growth and Innovation

In his role on the GRRAA Board, Tim will serve as a Director on the Education Committee. His focus will be on developing impactful educational opportunities that cater to professionals across all areas of property management.

With nine years of experience in the property management industry, Tim brings valuable insights to the table. His work with GRRAA will help identify industry best practices, explore emerging trends, and strengthen connections among peers and vendors. These efforts will contribute to the success of Goldmark, GRRAA, and the broader property management community.

We had the chance to speak with Tim about his new role, his journey in property management, and what excites him about this opportunity:

Q: What will be your responsibility while serving as a Director for the board of the Greater Red River Apartment Association (GRRAA)?

Tim: I will be serving as Director on the Education Committee. In that role, I will help provide educational opportunities that are relevant to our industry and relatable to all property management positions. For example, at our monthly general meetings, we host educational presentations, and I’ll assist in finding and coordinating with those speakers.

Q: What inspired you to pursue this?

Tim: I’ve always thought highly of the people who were on the board, so when a couple of positions opened up, I decided to apply. I’ve also attended the monthly and yearly events that the Association puts on for years, and I wanted to give back.

Q: When you first started your career in property management, did you ever think you would end up serving as a Director for an organization like the GRRAA?

Tim: Honestly, if you had told me years ago, I wouldn’t have believed it. I started as a Leasing Specialist nine years ago at a site office called Sheridan Pointe, which is now part of the Prairiewood Meadows office. I didn’t start attending meetings until I became an Assistant Property Manager, and the people on the board were usually VPs or RMs from our company or other property management companies. So, I never imagined I’d be in their company.

Q: What excites you most about serving as a Director?

Tim: I’m excited to continue providing high-quality, impactful learning experiences to everyone who attends the general meetings. I’m also eager to share my ideas and help strengthen the Association.

Q: What do you look forward to accomplishing or experiencing during your term?

Tim: I hope to make our monthly meetings a can’t-miss event because of the quality of the speakers. I want people to come not just for the food but also for the value they gain from the sessions.

Q: What do you hope to learn or achieve personally and professionally throughout this experience?

Tim: I’m looking forward to working closely with people from other companies. That’s part of the magic of Associations like this—interacting with peers who might approach the same challenges in different ways. It’s a great opportunity for learning and collaboration.

Q: How do you envision your role with GRRAA will impact Goldmark?

Tim: I hope to set a positive example and represent the character and quality of Goldmark employees. My goal is to bring new ideas and solutions back to the team and enhance the services we provide to our residents.

Q: Is there anything else you’d like us to know about what you’ll be doing, and would you recommend other team members to pursue experiences like this as well?

Tim: If anyone has something they’re struggling with or wish they understood better, I encourage them to reach out to me. Whether it’s through my role as a Property Manager or as a GRRAA Board member, I’m happy to help find solutions or even arrange relevant training. I’d also challenge everyone to make time for GRRAA meetings—it’s a great place to connect with peers both inside and outside Goldmark.

About Tim Bullock

Tim has been with Goldmark Property Management for nine years, starting as a Leasing Specialist and advancing through roles like Assistant Property Manager and Property Manager. He has worked at several properties, gaining experiences that have prepared him for this leadership opportunity.

Outside of work, Tim enjoys collecting Funko figures, building LEGO Star Wars ships, and reading detective novels. He shares his home with his wife, Steph—Goldmark’s Regional Manager—and their two cats, Honey-Bee and Wednesday.

Join Us in Celebrating Tim's Success!

Tim’s appointment to the GRRAA Board is a testament to his dedication and the leadership culture at Goldmark. His efforts will help shape the future of property management and inspire others to get involved in industry associations.

We are proud to congratulate Nicki Sneed, Senior Engagement Coordinator at Goldmark Property Management, who was selected to participate in the Leadership Fargo Moorhead West Fargo’s (LFMWF) Class of 2025! This prestigious program, designed to empower and develop community leaders, will allow Nicki to sharpen her leadership skills while contributing to vital initiatives that strengthen our region. Her selection reflects her commitment to excellence, and we are excited to support her on this journey.

We asked Nicki what the experience has been like so far:

Q: After the first couple of sessions, what has the experience been like?

Nicki: This has been an incredibly unique experience. Getting to work with other leaders in the community in a myriad of different roles and industries has been so insightful. I feel like I’ve already gotten to challenge myself in so many ways and find new ways to communicate. I’m excited to see what the next sessions hold and continue to grow and collaborate!

Q: What was one key takeaway or insight you gained from these first two sessions?

Nicki: Having confidence is not a requirement off the bat. What’s more important is that when you’re nervous or scared of something is that you do it anyway. Being faced with something you’re scared of and doing it anyway is hard, but so rewarding and vital to your journey. Bravery begets confidence, and doing something you’re scared of each day will create those building blocks for you!

Q: Is there anything you’re looking forward to learning more about throughout this program?

Nicki: I’m really looking forward to continuing to work with leaders in the area and continue to grow and strengthen my own skills in our industry and organization. I’m looking forward to working on our Community Change Initiatives, in which we will implement programs or activities that will help improve the communities we serve and live in!

One of the activities that Nicki and the other members of the Class of 2025 got to participate in was a Challenge Course which tasked everyone to essentially face their fears and work together.

“The goal of the course was to strengthen our bond as a class and break down any barriers so that we could trust each other implicitly. We relied on each other for motivation and also worked to (literally) lift each other up,” Nicki says.

“We did a ropes course 40ft in the air, climbed trees and jumped from the top, and threw ourselves into freefalls. We left feeling tired, and bruised, but proud of ourselves and each other for overcoming our fears!”

We look forward to talking with Nicki more next Spring after she completes the program!

About Nicki Sneed

Nicki Sneed is the Senior Engagement Coordinator at Goldmark Property Management. Freshly back in the community after living in Los Angeles, Nicki is new to the property management industry. Previously, she was in the food industry, holding various titles including Kitchen Manager.

Outside of work, Nicki enjoys spending time with friends and family. When she’s not tinkering in the kitchen, she can be found painting, watching old movies, or playing Dungeons & Dragons.

Leadership is crucial in the workplace, but it’s equally vital in the communities we serve. Angela Arneson, Director of Talent and Engagement at Goldmark Property Management, shares her transformative experience as a member of the 2023-24 Leadership Fargo Moorhead West Fargo (LFMWF) Class. This prestigious program empowers local leaders to make a difference in the Fargo-Moorhead community.

What is Leadership Fargo Moorhead West Fargo (LFMWF)?

For over 30 years, the LFMWF program has been developing and uplifting community leaders in the Fargo, Moorhead, and West Fargo areas. Each year, 40 individuals are selected for a 10-month leadership development program focused on addressing key regional issues and fostering community engagement. Angela’s participation in this program provided her with valuable insights and experiences that she brings back to Goldmark and Sterling.

Q: How did you grow as a leader during this 10-month program?

Angela: Although I’ve served in leadership roles for over a decade, the LFMWF program offered me a fresh perspective on what it means to be a leader in the Fargo-Moorhead community. Growing up in Fertile, MN, I always dreamed of moving to a bigger city, and while Fargo fulfilled that dream, I sometimes felt "stuck." But through this program, I discovered a renewed passion for Fargo-Moorhead.

I connected with local leaders, explored new businesses, and gained insights that deepened my appreciation for our vibrant community. This experience has made me proud to be a leader here, and I no longer feel “stuck”—instead, I feel more connected than ever.

Q: What were some key insights you gained from the Leadership FMWF program?

Angela: One of the most valuable aspects of the LFMWF program was the opportunity to network with other professionals in the Fargo-Moorhead area. I built strong relationships with leaders from diverse industries, such as Alec, a Master Arborist with Fargo Parks, and Barbara, a Director at the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center. These connections provided me with fresh insights and new approaches to leadership that I now apply every day at Goldmark.

Q: Describe a challenge in your region that your leadership can help solve.

Angela: The LFMWF program highlighted the significant role that non-profits play in the Fargo-Moorhead community. Hearing from leaders of organizations like Farm in the Dell and Lutheran Social Services was eye-opening. It reminded me that volunteering time is as impactful as financial donations. As a leader, I’m inspired to contribute to these organizations through both service and leadership.

Q: How has the program most impacted your leadership at Goldmark?

Angela: One of the key takeaways from the program was understanding different communication styles. We completed assessments that helped me better identify and adapt to the communication preferences of others. As someone with a “talker” communication style, I’ve learned to be more mindful of how I engage with my team, improving our collaboration at Goldmark.

Q: Who would you suggest take the Leadership FMWF program?

Angela: The LFMWF program is ideal for anyone in the Fargo-Moorhead area who wants to enhance their leadership skills and contribute to the community. You don’t need a formal leadership title to apply. If you’re passionate about personal and professional growth, I highly recommend giving it a try and applying. I’m excited that our own Nicki Sneed will be joining the class of 2025 next year—congratulations, Nicki!

Q: Is there anything else you'd like to share about your time in this program?

Angela: The LFMWF program encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and say “yes” to new opportunities. This has been a significant factor in my growth as a leader, and I’m excited to continue embracing challenges in both my personal and professional life.

Our team in Minneapolis recently organized a food drive to support Hope 4 Youth, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping young people aged 16 to 24 who are experiencing homelessness in the northern Twin Cities metro area. Hope 4 Youth provides vital resources and services to empower these youth to build a brighter future.

One of the major initiatives at Hope 4 Youth is their Hope 4 Youth Center, located in Anoka, MN. This center offers a safe, non-judgmental space for youth of all backgrounds, races, and genders. The center meets basic needs by providing hot meals, grab-and-go foods, clothing, laundry facilities, showers, and more. On-site Case Managers are also available to connect young people with stable housing, health and wellness programs, educational and employment opportunities, and other essential services.

We are proud to share that our Minneapolis team donated an impressive 420 pounds of food to the Youth Center, making it the largest contribution during their Summer Food Drive. This donation will have a significant impact on the lives of young people in our community.

Thank you to our Minneapolis team for their outstanding effort and commitment to supporting those in need!
