Grand Forks Supports Northlands Mission Backpack Program

Grand Forks Supports Northlands Mission Backpack Program

The Grand Forks Site Offices held a food drive to support the Northlands Mission Backpack Program.

The Backpack Program fights to end childhood hunger by providing food in students’ backpacks on Fridays to help sustain them over the weekend when they may not otherwise have access to meals.

Each Site Office promoted the event to residents – allowing the entire community to get involved with such an amazing and impactful organization. All together, the compassionate Grand Forks team members alongside many residents, contributed 150 items to the cause.

They didn’t stop there.

Grand Forks Team Members assist Northlands Rescue Mission

On April 11th, ten team members volunteered their time to help pack over 1,100 backpacks full of food in just 2 hours!

Northlands Rescue Mission is committed to ending hunger in our community. Last year over 600 children received a grocery bag filled with two breakfasts, two lunches, two snacks, two fruits and two juices. Children who don’t have enough to eat are able to have food throughout the weekend because of this program and those who invest in it.”
